I live in NYC and I am interested in going skiing in January. Do any of you know a good place to go?

Somewhere not too expensive, not too far from the city, fun, with other activities besides just skiing.
Somewhere not too expensive, fun, with other activities besides just skiing. Doesnt have to be close to the city, but not far away like 8 hours away.

Go north to Vermont…Killington….
My way around the city and some of upstate.
The county south of albany and its the catskills driving from nyc tops three hours.
Hunter Mountain and Wyndam Mountain are the two closest ski areas to the city.
If you want to go a little further, then try Killington in Vermont.
Even further…Whiteface in Lake Placid is a really great ski area, and there is plenty of other wintery things you can do there.
“Hunter mt.” It’s close, almost too close, you’ll see everyone you know, the slopes are named after streets in NYC, it is fun though, don’t go on Sun, mid week is best, If you leave on Fri nite, you can see all the tail lights heading north from NYC, north to “Hunter Mt.”, Long Underwear, Scarf, goggles, extra gloves, Heavy sox, are a MUST !
